Areas of interest

My research interest is the influence of galactic dynamics in processes as star formation. I'm currently studying the dynamics and star formation laws in galaxies using AMR simulations. Simulations allow me to explore different parameters and to characterize how they translate in measured physical quantities at different spatial scales

Our Astronomy Department was created in 1965 by the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Chile.

Our facilities are located in Cerro Calán (Las Condes) together with the National Astronomical Observatory, founded in 1852.
