Area of interest

He holds a PhD in Astronomy (1983) from Harvard University, specializing in the interstellar medium and star formation. Guido's work focuses primarily on studying a variety of phenomena associated with the early stages of massive star formation: compact regions of ionized gas, dense and massive molecular nuclei, ionized jets, bipolar molecular outflows, and accretion disks. The goal is to determine the physical characteristics and dynamics of these objects to gain a deeper understanding of how massive stars form and evolve. To achieve this, he conducts observations at millimeter and centimeter wavelengths using radio interferometers, including the Atacama Large Millimeter Array, and individual antennas, including the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment.
