What can you do with 39 million LVM spectra?

Massive stars ionize, heat and push the gas they formed from, in regions only a few parsecs across. The SDSS-V Local Volume Mapper (LVM) uses integral-field spectroscopy to map this ionized gas. Its resolution ranges from sub-parsec in nearby Galactic nebulae to about 10 pc in the Magellanic Clouds, and it has already collected more than 39 million spectra. I will introduce how LVM works, which emission-line diagnostics its 3600–9800 Å spectra cover, and how the data reduction pipeline turns raw frames into science-ready data products. I will then show recent LVM results and end with quick hacks on using LVM data open to the whole Chilean community.
